My, Devotion to Him #41

Sometimes encouragement comes in unexpected ways, and sometimes in a way in which we might not see encouragement.
VERSE PASSAGE: Proverbs 3:3-6 “Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – NIV
“Let love and faithfulness never leave you”
VERSE PASSAGE: Psalms 85:10-13 “Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other. Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven. The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest. Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps.” – NIV
Let love and faithfulness meet together. Then Psalms just releases a powerful message to us. I love that! Righteousness and peace kiss each other. There is an intimacy between love and faithfulness. The Lord is so loving to us and here it states that there is a deep connection and an importance between love and faithfulness.
“write them on the tablet of your heart”
VERSE PASSAGE: Deuteronomy 6:4-8 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.” – NIV
VERSE PASSAGE: 2 Corinthians 3:3 “You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.” – NIV
These go hand and hand together and I think it’s perfect. God wants more than just His stuff written in paper and boom that’s it. He wants them as a symbol on your hand, on your forehead, impressed on your heart. He wants us to always be talking about them. God is wanting you to be immersed in Him. That no matter what part of you people look at they see Christ. That we love Him with all our mind, soul, body, strength, with every fiber that’s in us. People will see that we our of Christ because His word is written on our heart. It’s what our heart beats for, it’s what our heart should long for.
“in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight”
VERSE PASSAGE: Proverbs 16:3 “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” – NIV
