My, Devotion to Him #80
The short answer: No
The long answer: God alone is omniscient. God sees clearly and comprehensively. In Heaven, we will see things with clarity.
VERSE PASSAGE: 1 Corinthians 13:12 “For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.” – NIV
However, this does not state that we will fully know everything single thing. We will never know every single thing because we will never be God. In Heaven we’ll be without flaws. It’s part of us being finite. Angels don’t even know everything, but they do long to know more.
VERSE PASSAGE: 1 Peter 1:12 “It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.” – NIV
The Angels are flawless but finite. Shouldn’t we expect to long for greater knowledge than what we currently know? Knowledge of God and His Word. Just as the Angels do? We’ll spend an eternity gaining the knowledge we seek. God puts us in the heavenly realms for a reason.
VERSE PASSAGE: Ephesians 2:6-7 “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.” – NIV
This means that God will be revealing himself to us throughout eternity. It seems to me that this indicates we will learn in Heaven. When we enter Heaven, we will begin learning of what we had known before our death. (Since the Bible states we will give an account of our lives.) God may correct and enhance our knowledge. I imagine He will reveal new things to us and then set us on the course for eternal learning. Once we are in our resurrects bodies our capacity for learning will greatly expand.
VERSE PASSAGE: Matthew 11:29 “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” – NIV
I am learning all the time in the Word. Sometimes I even learn something new about Mariah and we’ve been married for 3 years and I’ve known her for about 12 years. Yet I am still learning things about her. We will constantly learn new things in Heaven. Let us spend time here on earth with God and learn what we can while here are earth. We are never promised tomorrow.
Just knowing that we will spend an entirety learning new things about God. It makes me want to get a jump start and start learning all that I can about Him. If the Angels long to know more about it. It makes me want to know Him even more. Every time that God shows me something new in prayer or just my study time with Him. It makes me so happy and then I sit back and think about the little bit of revelation He gave me is a tiny crumb from an endless pie. God is endless and He will constantly give to us as we seek Him and spend time with Him.
