My, Devotion to Him #179
Verse Passage: John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” – NIV
In the verse above, Jesus shares His heart for us. He tells us why He came to earth. He wants us to have “life in all its fullness.” He is the source of real life. God sent Jesus to make a way for imperfect people to be in relationship with a perfect God.
Jesus states that it is the thief who has come to steal, kill, and destroy. But it is He (Jesus) who has come for something else. He has come to not steal but give. He has come to not kill but save. He has not come to destroy but make whole.
Jesus has come for His treasure. He has come for what He loves.
This life should mean nothing to us because it is nothing. Only real life begins when we give our hearts to Christ. It’s believing that Jesus is who He says He is and has come to do what He said He was sent to do. It’s coming to Him with a convicted heart and asking for His forgiveness. It is coming to Him and asking Him to reign in our life and hearts.
You will never experience life in its fullness until you give Him your fullness.
So many people are only worried about this life, money, jobs, and this and that. Trying to be secure and safe in finances, health, happiness while at the same time losing sight of Jesus. Losing sight of who He is and what He has done and continues to do.
I’m not saying that we can’t have a good job with good pay. But we must be ever so careful that we don’t let the dealings of this world overshadow Jesus Christ.
We must give Him our fullness. We must give Him our attention. He is so worthy of it. He has made us His treasure and for that we should treasure Him.
As Christians we need to understand that God treasures us and will take care of us. We should be getting into the fullness of Christ. Not acting like the world which is stressed out and depressed.
It is the thief who comes to steal from you, who comes to harm you, who comes to destroy things around you. But it’s is Jesus Christ who has come to bring you into His fullness!
Fullness meaning: the state of being filled to capacity.
We need to step into the fullness of Christ. We need to step into what He has in store for us. For those who have given their life to Christ and are now followers of Him need to take action and step in, because Jesus has come to “save” people that not only may they have enteral life, but also have fullness in this life.
God bless
