FREEDOM
That one word can mean different things to different people. This word is tied to LIBERTY. And perhaps to some, it means they are free to come and go as they please. Or free to be given the same opportunities in life as others. Or have the liberty to have a job and provide for their families, maybe liberty from a restrictive government, liberty to live life and not be in fear.
Being free in Christ gives me hope, and it should give you hope. I have hope that the promise of God’s grace lies within me. I have hope that all His promises will come to pass as they have in the past. Hope is powerful. So is liberty. We have liberty in Christ. (Liberty: the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority)
Being free in Christ gives joy. Joy in the knowledge that the troubles of this world are temporary, and that all will be gone and far away when we are in Heaven.
Being free in Christ gives me peace. It lets me live in peace with myself. Putting my past behind me and the grace of God before me enables a peaceful spirit to fill my soul. I don’t have to worry that my past self or my past actions hinder me from the kingdom since I am now born again and have turned from that old lifestyle and my old ways. I have liberty that my past has not oppressive restrictions on my new life with Christ.
Being free in Christ means knowing that I was loved enough to die for, and loved enough to be forgiven, and loved so much that the most daring mission and most costly operation was used in order to save me.
Being free in Christ gives me the ability to spread the good news of true freedom that comes with the Grace of God, through the power of Jesus Christ. Whatever is happening around us; the turmoil, the pain, the heartaches of life, can be overcome because, in Christ, we are truly free! In Christ we truly have liberty.
Let Liberty ring with such resounding noise that is drowns out everything else. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom and liberty in Christ Jesus!
God bless.
