My, Devotion to Him #4
VERSE PASSAGE: John 6:35 “Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” – NIV
VERSE PASSAGE: John 4:15 “The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw” – NIV
The woman is not understanding what Jesus has just told her. In (John 10:14). He was talking to her about ever living water in which she would never go thirsty again. But you see she and like so many others was only looking with physical eyes. So she asked Jesus to give her this water so she would not go thirsty and she wouldn’t have to go back and forth to the well and draw from it just to drink.
She is not understanding that Christ is offering her eternal life. He is offering something so much better than physical water but spiritual water. He is offering her a chance to drink from the well of eternal life. Water in which is alive. Water that you can feel coursing through you. Water that brings complete change to who you are.
This kind of water cannot be seen with earthly eyes, or felt with our hands. It is water that once drank does wonders for the spirit, body, mind and soul. She was only wanting water but He was offering her everlasting life. This water overflows within you. The kind that flows off you and onto others around you. Making others ask what is going on. For there is no water on earth that can sustain us everlastingly. But the water of God will keep us in total refreshment forever and ever.
If you are thirsty and if you are tired. If you are tired of doing the same thing over and over again like this woman was. Then Jesus is your solution. There is water from a source that is in its purest form. There is water that you can only dream about. There is water that man can not capture and sell it for profits. This water can only be obtain by you coming to Christ.
This water will be so good to you that you will want to continually drink from it. Not because you need to because your thirsty but because you have a longing too. You desire it to the very core of who you are.
Don’t worry about going to a store to buy and which brand you can afford. Because this source of water is open to all who are willing. This well is open 24/7 and you can obtain it wherever you are and whenever you want it.
