VERSE PASSAGE: Isaiah 40:11 “He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.” – NIV
I never spent anytime around sheep growing up. I’m not for sure how many of you have either. However, I do know that sheep are mentioned several times in the Bible. I assume that due to many references being made about guides and caring for sheep that sheep need a lot of attention. This same basic concept can be said about Christians. We need a lot of time with the Father. He is our Shepherd. What we get from Isaiah is that God tends to His flock. He gives attention and care to His flock. He gathers us in His arms and keeps us close to His heart. His devotion to us is evident in this passage.
Many times I think we as Christians get side tracked and think about others giving us attention and others caring for us. We want and seek attention. However we tend to forget that the one and only creator of the universe is willing to give us the attention we need. He is wanting to wrap us up in His arms when we are feeling lonely and unloved. He is wanting to give us attention when we are feeling left out and separated from the world.
There is so many things going on in our lives and the last thing we need worry about is feeling alone and uncared for. Fortunate enough for us we have the greatest caretaker ever. We have the best Shepherd anyone could ever ask for. We have God the Father. Know that God will and wants to wrap you up and place you by His heart. He wants to show you love. He wants to give you attention. He knows exactly where you are right now and what is happening in your life. His tender care is with you no matter the circumstance your in.
God bless!
