Hope For Tomorrow

My, Devotion to Him #157

It is easy to get caught up in the challenges we face on a daily basis and start to worry. God does not intend for us to live a life full of worry but to trust in Him to live abundantly. The following are examples of scripture that encourage us to place our complete trust in God. Which will ultimately give us hope for tomorrow.

1. We have nothing to fear.

Hebrews 13:5-6 tells us that the Lord is our helper and we shall not fear what man may do to us. In Romans 8:30-32 Paul tells us that if God be for us who can be against us.

2. God is our rock & our fortress.

David tells us in Psalm 31:1-5 to put our trust in the Lord that He is our rock and fortress. Asaph tells us in Psalm 73:24-28 that God is our guide and shelter. With God as our guide, fortress and shelter we have nothing to fear.

3. God is our guide for our entire life.

In Psalm 48:12-14 the sons of Korah tell us that if we permit Him, God will be our guide for life. We permit Him to guide us by opening our heart to the Holy Spirit and living in obedience to His holy Word.

4. We shouldn’t be stubborn in following God’s word.

David tells us in Psalm 32:8-9 don’t be a stubborn mule but to live according to God’s purpose in our lives.

5. Be content in what’s been provided.

Paul tells this to Timothy in 1Timothy 6:6-8. In this life it is easy to get caught up in our desires for the “things of this world”. We need to be thankful and happy with what God provides for us. See Luke 12:22-31.

6. The Father knows the need.

In the book of Luke Jesus tells us not to worry over the basics that our Father in Heaven knows our needs. See Luke 12:22-24; Luke 12:29-31. It’s common to worry about things, fear, and stress out. But know that your father knows what the need is. He will take care of everything but we must put our trust in Him.

7. The biggest worry is over.

Jesus tells us in John 3:16-17 that God loves us so much that He gave His only Son for us. If we have a God willing to give up His only Son as a recompense for our sins, how can we spend time worrying over the future?

God has taken care of eternity for us now why do we worry about food for one single meal. Good grief! It’s just amazing how we fret, worry, fear over petty stuff and not fully trust God who has taken care of eternity for us.

8. A giver of Strength & Peace.

David tells us in Psalm 29:11 that God gives us strength and peace.

We should be comfortable that our future is in God’s Hands which brings us hope for tomorrow. I am constantly being pulled to write stuff about worry and fear. But if you look on the tv, on movies, in homes, businesses, and sadly even churches people are worrying all the time about all sorts of stuff. It’s time that we give God our trust! And if we fully trust Him we will stop worrying about things in this life.

God bless!
