The Identity Series Part I: Finding The Real You

My, Devotion to Him #190

Verse Passage: Psalm 100:3-4 “Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” – NIV

David, who is the writer of many psalms, tells us in a certain psalm, that God has a special identity for us. Not only are we His creation and belong to Him, like sheep that He cares for, but we can also faithfully acknowledge that we know who He is. And that He is the One who deserves our praise.

We are in a era where people are struggling to find their identity. They are struggling socially and are in and out of different groups of people. They are struggling sexually and are changing their gender and the LGB community keeps expanding and is now represented as LGBTQI+, some are now advocating to be genderless. We in an era that is searching for any thing that could be their identity. Some don’t like their identity and others have lost theirs.

Only a persons real identity can be found in God. We are His and He made us. There are dark powers and wicked principalities that are whispering what people’s identities are. Satan does not want you to know what your real identity is. Because if you did you would know where you came from. If you knew where you came from you would know what you are heir to. You are God’s. You are His heirs. Your identity is within Him. But if we do not know this and we do not pursue this then we will be without an identity. We would be searching a life time trying to find ourselves. The struggle will not stop, the search will not end, and the truth will not be found. Take hold of Him. For it is within Him that your identity is found and it is perfect and make just for you.

God has already laid out who we are. We need to focus on Him and not this world. It is in Him that we will find ourselves completely. Instead of allowing the world to tell us who we should be. Turn to God to find out who you actually are!

God bless all the brothers and sisters in Christ!
