My, Devotion to Him #217

When we think about our lives what a blessing it is to have a God that loves and cares for us. The Following is a discussion of why we can be so thankful.

1. God that is Sovereign and Knows Our Needs

Verse Passage: 2 Corinthians 9:8 “And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” – NIV

Paul tells us that God will meet our needs. Not only will He meet your needs but He is able to bless you abundantly! There is so much abundance that you can be blessed in all things at all times. Simply amazing.

2. God that loves us unconditionally

Verse Passage: John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – NIV

Jesus tells us that God loves us so much that He gave up His only son so that we may have the opportunity for eternal life.

Verse Passage: Ephesians 3:19 “and to know this love that surpasses knowledge —that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” – NIV

Paul tells us that the love of Jesus surpasses all knowledge. This means that we cannot comprehend the love that the Lord has for us and expresses towards us.

3. God has made a direction connection to us through Jesus Christ

Verse Passage: John 3:17 “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” – NIV

4. Jesus tells us that He came to redeem and save.

Verse Passage: Hebrews 9:12-14 “He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption. The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!” – NIV

We are told that Christ blood is sufficient as eternal redemption of our sins. It Christ’ blood that was and is sufficient to wipe away our sins. It’s through Him that a direct link to God was made possible.

Verse Passage: John 1:12 “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” – NIV

The disciple John tells us that those that believe in His name will become sons and daughters of God.

5. He is always with us

Verse Passage: Matthew 28:20 “and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – NIV

Jesus make it’s clear to us and tells us that He will always be with us till the very end.

6. He has given us the Holy Spirit

Verse Passage: John 14:16 “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever” – NIV

Jesus tells us that He will ask God the Father to give us the Holy Spirit to dwell within our hearts and remain with us forever.

7. He hears our prayers

Verse Passage: 1 Peter 3:12 “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” – NIV

Jesus tells us that God hears our prayers and He is attentive (pays close attention) to our prayers.

8. He has a plan for our Life

Verse Passage: 1 Peter 4:10 “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” – NIV

Verse Passage: John 12:26 “Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.” – NIV

Verse Passage: 1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” – NIV

There are many passages that declare we have been called to the work of God. And that in our service we honor God. The Word proclaims we have received each a gift or gifts that are to be used for the kingdom of God and the agenda of the lamb.

We should be ever grateful for all that He has done and is doing for us on a daily basis. Not only should we be thankful but show our thankfulness.
