My, Devotion to Him #246
When it comes to problems who are we turning to in order to solve them; God, yourself, friends, family?
Before you even think about answering this question please read below.
“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you. Whose’s thoughts are fixed on you. For those who are righteous, the way is not steep and rough. You are a God who does what is right, and you smooth out the path ahead of them.”
What a great promise! If you want to maintain a peaceful state of mind, live by this principle always: “Do your best, and trust God with the rest”
Some of us grew up with the notion that it’s wrong to enjoy ourselves when we have problems. We’ve been told to think that if we can’t do anything else at least we can worry and be miserable. Paul tells us to not be frightened in any way and that in doing so we are showing our opponents that they have no power and that we are saved by the highest power who is above all. (moderns wording)
Satan doesn’t know what to do when he can’t get us upset; you’ve taken a powerful weapon out of his hands. By trusting in God completely, you are no longer at the mercy of situations, flesh, or the world. It is moments, situations, or circumstances of potential worry and fear that we must remember that these situations or events have always been here. We are not the first to deal with these. We will not be the last to deal with these. But it is our chance to show that there is a different way we can handle these. There is a different approach that we can take which will not only be our victory but it can also be a manifesto for others to have the same type of victory. That is the gospel. The Gospel is the manifesto for victory. It is filled with victories and we all but bring even more supporting evidence (not needed) that this manifesto is true. This is the way. This way leads to success. This way leads to peace and a resounding victory of all that we may encounter in this life.
The question is not if trouble will come, instead It is how will you handle the trouble when it comes?
The Bible says “We which have believed do enter into rest”
When things go wrong don’t fellow suit. Follow God’s lead and stand on His Word! Then take rest in Him and trust in Him to work on your behalf. This is not some fairytale story to make us feel good. Christians need to stand up and proclaim the very victory God has decreed you to have. Even in such a time as this we must stand! We must show the world that we will not follow suit. We must show there is but a different approach. That we follow the highest king. We follow the Creator! The One and only Lord. It is by Him that we shall have victory and it is by Him that we not only have peace but actually know peace.
God bless!
