My, Devotion to Him #247
I’m sure you have been in an uncomfortable place before. And there may have been another time where we were in such a situation but we were not uncomfortable. God can make us comfortable in some of life’s most uncomfortable places. He can bring you through circumstances that you wouldn’t survive any other way, or feel like you’d be stuck in forever. He can give you the peace when you are under pressure. Before your life is over, you’ll experience loss. Yes, losing something will actually help you to appreciate the things you do have on a daily basis.
It’s that taste of failure on our lips that makes success so sweet. We live not knowing what tomorrow holds or will bring, but we do know that God has all the tomorrows planned out. Our future is not in the hands of our bosses, family, friends, spouses, boy/girl friends, stock markets, or even governments. And your future is of course not in your own hands for control if you have handed the controls over to God.
Therefore all the tomorrows are taken care of by the very One who has already been through all the tomorrows. Just because you may not understand fully or see clearly the path you are on, does not mean that God is not leading you.
God promises: “I will lead them in the paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked paths straight. These things I will do for them, and not forsake them.”
So we must spend time with God. We must take our time in His presence and within His throne room. He is the only one that will be there when everyone else has failed you, He will be there even in those dark places.
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”
However long that night may be, morning is coming and with it His joy. Looking back, you will realize that His grace has protected you, provided for you, calmed you, brought comfort, and saw you through.
He is the comforter even in those uncomfortable places. He will see you through from the beginning to the end, and He will never leave your side. It is amazing to look back on some times that I, myself have been through. How uncomfortable those situations were. I did not know the path I was on. Though He saw me through. In the end I saw clearly. After it was over I saw what was taking place. I saw the big picture.
We will not always be in a place where we will feel okay, where we feel good, where it is comfortable. But we serve a God who is above all things and who knows all things. It is in this very thing that we can take comfort in even while standing in such uncomfortable places. That our faith resides within the Lord. That our shelter is under His wings. That are paths are made straight by God.
When I tell my daughter to go somewhere she may feel frightened because she my not know why, she may not know the reason, she may not know what lies ahead of her, and it could be into an unknown or unfamiliar area. But if I walk with her she goes wherever I go without fear or worry because her father is by her side.
This is so true to its very essence and it is one of the most important things for us as Christians to get, understand, and apply to our life. Our Father is right by our side, He is leading us into the unknown. He is there in all those uncomfortable places so that we may feel that calmness. So that we may become comfortable in all places.
God bless!
