Forever God

My, Devotion to Him #102

I see people everywhere including Christians running around pulling teeth, hair, worrying about what to do next in life. After having been in that position I now know that there’s no reason to panic. After all, Jesus told us what to do.

Verse passage: John 14:1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me” – NIV

When Jesus said those words to His disciples, they were about to face more trouble than many of us could imagine. Jesus was about to be crucified before their very eyes. Peter was about to deny Him before the crowd. Who could even imagine the amount of stress these disciples had?

Yet knowing their stress levels Jesus said to them, “do not let your hearts be troubled.” He went on to teach how to have an untroubled heart even in the most troubling times.

Verse passage: John 15:4-5, 7-8 “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” – NIV

When we remain in Jesus, He’s not just God on Sundays. He’s not just the One you think about when you get in trouble or have a hard test or need something in life. No! When we remain in Him, He’s God from Monday through Sunday. He’s God during school, during work, while at home. He is God all the time and we need to recognize that. God doesn’t have a timer for when He is on duty and off duty. He is present all the time! He watches all the time! He is God all the time! He will continue to be God all the time!

We remain in Jesus by talking to Him throughout the day, week, month, year. Remembering His Word. For if His Word remains within us it will constantly teach us God’s ways and wisdom. His promises will keep our heart from being troubled.

God bless!
