The Plan

My, Devotion to Him #103

A question I’m sure we have all asked at some point in time is “What is God’s plan for my life?” And a lot of times it’s hard to answer because we aren’t just born and given a paper that says in 30 years this is what you’ll be doing. So yet, the question still remains. Sometimes we are chomping at the bits to fulfill the divine purpose that God has crafted for us. However, we simply cannot do this without direction. The direction is the explicit instruction of God to guide us to our destination. If we were to go down the path that we “thought” was the divine pathway because it was the “godly” option we would MISS our divine purpose. We may do all these good things and maybe even great things. BUT! It will not be the divine purpose that God intended for us, made for us, and chose for us.
The truth is, God never intended for us to be in the dark about His plan for us. He left us clear, written instructions. He gave us a pattern to follow so we can carefully carry out those instructions.
The pattern is Jesus. It’s always been, Jesus. Yet for some reason, many us miss this. Our call is to continue His Ministry! I know that sounds like a big order and many will think “Surely not me, maybe someone else more righteous or someone that has better ideas than me.” However, this is the same call that is given to every single Christian. No matter who you are, what you been through, or what your current situation in life is.
Verse passage: John 17:18 “As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them, I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.” – NIV
Once we realize and grasp that Jesus is the pattern and we are to follow in His ways we can live out this Christian life with much more clarity. But, we need to find out exactly what Jesus was sent to do.
Verse passage: 1 John 3:8 “The one who does what is sinful is of the devil because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.” – NIV
Think about this passage for a minute. This passage states that Jesus came to destroy the devil’s work. We are called to finish the work that Jesus began. That is the job God wants us to do. The way we do that is the same way Jesus did it.
Verse passage: John 14:12 “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father.” – NIV
Jesus has just told us that we the believers would be carrying out the work that He was doing. Not only would we continue this work but we would go beyond that and do greater things.
Jesus’ Ministry
  1. Healed the sick
  2. Cast out demons
  3. Preached the Good News
Many people feel shy about preaching but we need to get over the fright because it’s our purpose. The Bible was never designed to be preached without proof. Jesus didn’t just say “God loves you” He went out and demonstrated it to the people. He proved that what He said was the truth by operating with supernatural powers.
This is what is expected of us. This is our purpose. This is our destiny. If we want to find out what our purpose in this life is this is it! Pray and heal the sick! Cast out all demonic beings/forces from people in which breaks them from the bondage that God never intended them to be a slave to. And preach the good news. God loves people and if they are willing to turn from their sin in life and turn to Him if they will call out to Him; He will save them.
God bless.
