Repentance Is Still An Option

My, Devotion to Him #127

VERSE PASSAGE: Isaiah 55;7 “Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.” – NIV

I’ve always wondered why God just doesn’t rain down total judgment on the wicked. Why so much goes on that is not met with instant judgment. Then I read a passage like this and my heart and mind is changed. Even the wicked people have a chance at mercy. God is willing and able to pardon the wicked. Even the most cruelest people can be save if they give up their evil ways. Many times Israel turned from God and worshiped other gods. They indulged in sinful acts of the world and after time were convicted and came back to God.

God has always been against sinful acts and has constantly throughout history brought judgment to those people. But should the message of repentance be any less than what is was in Isaiah’s time? It is clear that the world needs God. He is the answer to all the problems that we are facing. We should not give up on those who do not know God and live a rebellious life style. The call to repentance needs to be sounded. God wishing that none perish without knowing Him. That is the message of the cross. God sent His Son to save a lost and dying world. There are many who do not know Him and many who have never even heard of Him. These people know only the life that they have been raised in. Repentance is still an option.

God bless you my brothers and sisters in Christ.
