God, Our Life Long Guide that at many times we ignore. Have you ever been on a tour and there was a tour guide? If you don’t follow the guide then you will miss all the things he will show you. But that’s the least of our concern. Because depending on our tour it could be in a foreign country or a tour of city. If we don’t follow we could get lost. That would not be good to get lost in another country or a city we don’t know anything about.
Same is true for God. When we don’t follow Him we miss the amazing things that He has to show us. We miss all kinds of blessings and awesome opportunities. And sadly if we don’t follow we can get lost. The great thing about God is He doesn’t just forgot about you. He waits for you to make your return and will continue showing you the great and wonderful things.
God is our trustworthy guide. Without Him we are lost in a world of sin. Below are truths about God’s trustworthiness and why we should just let God guide.
1. God is our guide.
Verse Passage: Psalm 32:8-9 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.” – NIV
David tells us in Psalm that God guides us through life and teaches us the way to go. David also tells us in Psalm 31:3-4 and He will pull us out of the net that His enemies have laid.
So God will not only guide us in the way that we should go, but He will protect us against harm. How many guides do you know that will defend you when you face trouble?
2. God guides us for our entire Life.
Verse Passage: Psalm 48:14 “For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.” – NIV
It’s nice to know that as long as we follow God will continue to guide. He doesn’t tire out, He doesn’t take a break, He doesn’t go on vacation. His hours of guiding is 24/7 all the way to the very end of this life.
3. God guides us to Glory.
Verse Passage: Psalm 73:23-24 “Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.” – NIV
Asaph the chief counsel to David tells us in Psalms that God guides us into glory which is Heaven. There is no other guide who could ever get us to Heaven. God is so good!
4. God is our guide because He knows us perfectly.
Verse Passage: Luke 12:7 “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” – NIV
Jesus tells us that He knows the number of hairs on our heads. This show you how much interest He has in you. That He even knows the number of hairs your have and each one is numbered. He knows us inside and out. What better person to guide us than the person who knows us perfectly.
5. Our heavenly Father knows “Best”.
David tells us in Psalm 23:1-3 that God leads him beside still waters and in the path of righteousness.
6. God is our guide because He has a purpose for our lives.
Verse Passage: Ecclesiastes 3:1 “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:” – NIV
This tells us there is a purpose to all things under heaven. Paul tells us in Romans 8:28 that all things work to the good of those that love God and there is a purpose behind this. In 2 Timothy 1:9 Paul tells Timothy that God has a purpose for our Lives.
If God has a purpose for us then what better person than Him to guide us to that purpose. Thus He is once again the perfect guide and the One that we need to follow.
7. God’s guidance does not eliminate trials and tribulations from our lives.
Jesus tells us in John 16:32-33 that tribulations will come into our lives. And Paul tells us in Romans 12:12 to have patience in these tribulations. And that these are our time of glory. See Ephesians 3:12-14.
8. Obedience brings mercy.
Moses tells us in Deuteronomy 4:29-31 that obedience during tribulation brings mercy from God.
Let God be your guide today! There is no one more qualified than Him. There is no one more caring than Him. There is no one more protective than Him. We need to stop looking around and doing our own thing. Let God guide.
God bless!
