My, Devotion to Him #266
When things don’t go our way it’s easy for us to call up that trusted person. That one person we know we can pour ourself out too. It’s that person that has been by our side through thick and thin, supported us through some tough seasons in our life. Calling them up is easy because we are comfortable with them. We know that we are free to speak and they are always there to listen and help. We are so comfortable that just venting things with them feels therapeutic.
The only downside that we find is after we’ve cried, vented, or whatever and our friend might give some advice and the phone is hung up, everything is actually still the same. Nothing has changed. The very things we were crying about, yelling about, pouring ourself out for is actually still right there in front of us. The obstacle is still staring us down and did not even move an inch after our phone call. Yea, we might have gotten some temporary relief but that thing is still there and still has to be dealt with.
Even though friends are amazing, and so helpful, there is still no comparison to the vast power that awaits us if we just tap into God. We can tap into this great power at anytime. God created you to bear His image and to experience His love. But that’s not it. He also has given us access to the benefits of being His child. When we put our faith in Him, the power of God begins to break down strongholds in our life and brings about transformation in us as well. There is peace, strength, comfort, and renewal within Him that we can not obtain anywhere else.
Our faith in Him is very dangerous. The power of God is vast and unmatched. He can lay waste to all the worlds armies. Take on every single demon at one time and come out untouched, and without breaking a sweat. He can raise and sink mountains. The universe bows down to His voice. The sun can only burn as bright as He allows. The planets move around by His command. Stars burn and shoot by His say so. The moon comes around only because God allows it too. There is nothing that can come close to His authority and power.
Faith is one heck of a dangerous tool. It’s a match that leads to a massive unending pit of fuel. Once our faith is used it ignites God’s power in our life. When problems arise just take a break and pray. Put everything you have in His hands! He is the one with limitless power and infinite wisdom. He is the only one that saw your problem coming, He has already been here looking at this problem before you were born, and He has already been past that problem all at the same time. He’s knows the ending.
So don’t be afraid, worried, or stressed. Instead grab that match with confidence, boldness and light that match! Spark the power with your faith!
