Peace of Mind Part I

My, Devotion to Him #282

Verse Passage: John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” – NIV

Do you have peace? We know that the child of God cannot have peace while sin remains on the conscience. This truth is the same as not asking for forgiveness. Life is a storm when we are in defiance against the Living God. The Lord, however, promises peace to His children. We should run to this.

The biggest problem we face is our sin. As said, this gets in the way of peace. However, when we consider that Christ has died for sin and stands in our place as our substitute, we should know about, obtain, and reside in a state of peace.

The sacrifice of Jesus Christ has removed our sins. We can be at peace, have peace, and know peace. That should be the present condition of the child of God. As the above verse tells us, Jesus gives us peace. Talk to God about any unconfessed sins, then seek peace within Him that only He can provide.

We often are unsettled by the concerns that life brings us. Indeed, one way we can have peace is by turning those concerns over to the Lord. When you go to Him, you can unload your worries and burden. Jesus is more significant than our past, present, and future concerns. He can overcome them all. He rallies us to bring and lay down our burdens, problems, and worries.

This rock-solid certainty should grip our hearts in times of struggle: Jesus cares for us and guarantees us peace. Know today that God cherishes you, cares for you, understands your troubles, and can meet all your needs. That is His promise to you.

Let us come to the alter, leave our afflictions with Christ. Let us tell Him all our anxieties. Open up to Him, and He will give complete peace through the Holy Spirit.

God bless.
